About us
The Hotel Garni has only recently been founded by Peter Meurer and his partner Ann-Kathrin Meurer. The name was inspired by the age and charm of the beautiful building.
Historical background: The small village was firstly mentioned in a document by the Prüm Abbey as Villa cuchema in 886. The monastery had been endowed among others a manor house in Villa cucheme by the matron Hieldilda. The name Villa Cuchema of our Hotel Garni refers to this historical incident.
In 2017 family Gundert, who had run the house as previous owners under the name Pension Gundert, decided to retire. Ann-Kathrin and Peter, who wanted to return to their hometown Cochem after living and working in the south of Germany for some years, were happy about the opportunity to continue the house’s tradition of lodging from 2018 onwards.
We offer you a cozy and affordable accommodation in a quiet part of Cochem not far away from the city-center. Business travelers will find a homely and charming alternative to the hotels of the city. Tourists profit from first hand tips on local events, attractions and sights.
In our Hotel Garni we have created a homely and open atmosphere to make your stay comfortable and recreative. If you have questions or concerns, please feel free to contact us any time before, during, or after your stay.
We’re looking forward to your visit.
